Hope your Christmas was a good one, and that you have had much time for hobbying. I sure have had my fair share of time!
And what better than to build and paint ancient sculpts in the form of some Hoplite walls of spears!
Oh man, whats more impressive than a wall of spears? Not much I tell you.
This is a minor kitbash to represent Thebans and minor northern Greek factions for the SPQR Gaming system. The helmets are from the Greek Peltasts, javelin men and slingers box from Victrix (https://www.victrixlimited.com/collections/greek-and-persian-wars/products/greek-peltasts-javelin-men-and-slingers?variant=32092934111331).
The body is from the Greeks: Classical greek Phanlax box from Warlord (https://eu.warlordgames.com/products/greeks-classical-greek-hoplites)
And then the hero, because every warband needs a hero.
Interestingly, the scales of warlord and victrix are a bit different, warlord being smaller, but this does not really show much when only using heads from victrix.
I’m really hopeful to get in more games this coming year, as I finally have found a gaming group for wargames! Although they focus on Warcry, I’m hoping they are willing to try something new for a change and might want to delve into the other gaming systems I have.
